Honda VFR1200F Sports Tourer Likely To Be Launched In India By 2010-11

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) will launch its first “sports tourer” VFR1200F in India by 2010-11.

Once it is launched it will carry a hefty 110% import duty based on CBU and it is estimated at Rs 40 - 50 lakhs when it is launched. But no official details revealed yet.

Honda VFR1200F sports the first dual clutch transmission offered on a motorcycle and it was first announced by the company in 2009 and showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show and the production vehicle will be delivered in early 2010 in the European and Japanese markets.

According to the Honda International’s release, “The VFR1200F has been developed in keeping with previous VFRs; that have delivered a combination of sports and touring capabilities using the latest technologies. This motorcycle is however brand new: A clean-sheet interpretation of the ultimate road-sport machine – a concept driven by extensive understanding of customer needs and the adoption of state-of-the-art technologies.”
